Pete's Log: Wolfsburg

Entry #1709, (Travel)
(posted when I was 32 years old.)

I've been in Wolfsburg since Monday. I return to Munich tomorrow. Anyone familiar enough with Germany should be able to figure out which company I might be at. Monday was Saint Nicholas Day. We flew to Hannover and rented a car to drive to Wolfsburg. When we exited the plane, we got Saint Nicholas chocolates. At the car rental place they also gave us chocolates. And when we got on site, we discovered chocolate Saint Nicks at our desks. So the week started out very chocolatey.

Internet access at the hotel is spotty. Some sites are incredibly fast, while most fail to load at all. Some quirky DNS things seem to be happening, but I am too lazy to diagnose them.

My colleague and I had dinner at an "American sports bar" last night. I ordered a milk shake, and my colleague decided to have one too. He was surprised to discover ice cream was a key ingredient. The milk shake was pretty decent, but the burger was mediocre. Good burgers remain hard to find in Germany.

I've spent a good deal of my free time here playing minecraft. I don't understand why it is as fun as it is.
