Entry #1712, (Coding, Hacking, & CS stuff)
(posted when I was 32 years old.)

I've done something a bit silly.

It's been eight years since I last got a new computer for myself, and more than 12 since the last time I put together a desktop. I decided it was time again. Also, I needed something capable of playing StarCraft II.

So as I looked into the various pieces I needed to order, things slowly escalated. But at least I think I have a machine that will last me a few years now.

Here are the main components:

Corsair HX Series 850 Watt PSU
Asus Rampage III Extreme motherboard
Intel Core i7 950
Corsair PC-12800 12GB DDR3 RAM
Nvidia GeForce GTX470 GPU
Intel X25-M 160GB internal SSD
Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit

Needless to say, it's kinda fast. Windows says I score 7.4 out of 7.9:

Anyway, I will post more once I know how exactly to maximize this hardware. Needless to say, StarCraft II runs just fine.
