Pete's Log: Power Outage

A month or two ago we noticed that the transformer on the power pole behind our house in the alley was making a buzzing sound on occasion that it hadn’t in the past. After a few days of this, I happened to be taking the trash out and actually saw bright blue light from some arcing. Since a couple years earlier a transformer down the alley from us actually caught fire, I figured it wouldn’t hurt to call the power company.
They promised to send somebody out. I then forgot about it. A week ago we got a letter in the mail saying our power would be out for about four hours for maintenance today. I didn’t make the connection at the time, but sure enough, they’re in our alley this morning, replacing the transformer. Thanks ComEd!
Good thing we still have mobile internet. And that I made my “add entry” page more mobile friendly.
