Pete's Log: JB UpdateEntry #1874, Sat, December 12, 2020, 22:59 CDT (JB)
(posted when I was 42 years old.)
JB continues to thrive. Every day seems to bring so much new that it's hard to keep up. But I'll try to capture a few highlights.
Wheels on the Bus has passed Baby Shark as her favorite song.
She's been doing this thing lately when she wakes up where she'll call us down, but then not want out of bed. Instead she'll ask for "more books" and then happily sit in bed for a while and read.
She's starting to use more two-words phrases. Initially these were all of the form "more x" or "no x" but now we're getting things like "Boogie out" and other such phrases (of course more examples are eluding me right now). Vocabulary keeps growing, I can barely keep track anymore. Among other things she knows
- Several colors including brown, green, blue, red, yellow and purple (purple being her favorite)
- hot, warm, and cold (although there remains some confusion over the distinction between hot and warm)
- Various animal names and the sounds they make (owl being her favorite - hoo hoo)
- The letter O
- Up, down, in, out
- Jump, hop, spin, run
She continues to be really interested in the moon. We bought her a shirt with the moon on it and she regularly asks to wear it. I'm trying my best to get waxing/waning and crescent/gibbous into her vocabulary.
She loves the Christmas tree we put up. First thing when we come down in the morning she wants the lights turned on.
She's been real interested in putting diapers onto her stuffed animals. We have a few leftovers in smaller sizes that we let her use for this purpose.
