Pete's Log: Numbers

Entry #2184, (Parenthood)
(posted when I was 44 years old.)

JB continues to be into numbers. If she spots some, she requests we stop so she can read them. This is easy if we're just walking around, but we've had to explain to her several times that we can't just stop the car in the middle of the road so she can read some numbers.

One interesting aspect of all this is that she reads her numbers from right to left. She also has some numbered Duplo blocks that she likes to put in order lately, and those also get sorted right to left, with 1 on the right and 9 on the left.

I know our left to right arrangement for letters and numbers is purely arbitrary, so I know she's not doing anything "wrong" but I do wonder if I should start "correcting" her sooner rather than later. For the time being, I'm just letting her do things her way. She has enough years of arbitrary rules ahead of her.
