Pete's Log: Digital Clutter

Entry #2214, (Random Crap)
(posted when I was 44 years old.)

Fourteen years ago yesterday, I wrote of Pete's News that "I don't know if any exemplars still exist."

Since moving to Illinois, though, exemplars of all variety of things have come my way. And lately I've been trying on occasion to declutter the house of various physical exemplars by converting them to digital artifacts.

That is to say, occasionally I scan some old things so I can get rid of the physical item and keep a digital memento.

Three copies of Pete's News were among a box of things my parents sent me after moving here, and were scanned back in August, if the file timestamps are to be believed. Recycling the physical copies felt weird but liberating.

I'm not sure how legitimate my use of clip art in any of them is. And the Manta jokes I'm pretty sure were straight lifted out of a book of Manta jokes I was gifted back then. But much of the writing should be original. Oh yeah, and it's all in German.

In any event: Pete's News
