Pete's Log: June point five

Entry #1806, (Life in General)
(posted when I was 37 years old.)

DMC had its 20th anniversary party on June 2. Annie joined the festivities. She got her face painted. We entertained some customers. The weather was perfect.

The following Saturday, Jamie and I finally visited the North Riverside Public Library for the first time. It's super cute and actually has a decent selection. I think we may become regulars. My first NRPL book was 1776, which I finished in 24ish hours.

Then last Thursday, Rod met us at Exit Strategy in Forest Park for dinner and beers. It was great to catch up with him. After dinner we took him to Showmen's Rest.

Then last weekend, Sky and An Vy visited! I picked them up from the airport Saturday morning, and we then took them to Exit Strategy for lunch. After lunch we found a silly little Germanfest going on in Forest Park. We didn't end up staying long. For dinner we grilled in our backyard, then went on a dusk walk in the forest with Boogs. At some point we also fit in a game of Star Trek Catan.

Sunday we took them downtown for some Chicago touristing - Gino's East, Architecture River Cruise, Millenium Park, Navy Pier... Annie joined us at the Bean. All in all a fun visit, I think.

Tonight Jamie and I met her parents at the Pritzker pavilion for the first Grant Park classical concert of the summer. It was my first concert there and quite enjoyable.
