Personally, I have a problem with government in general. Bloated, inefficient, corrupt, oppressive and unjust. Based on my personal political convictions, the term that best describes me is Anarcho-Capitalist.

But alas, I am not an idealist. I know the world is far from being a perfect place. So as sort of a compromise between my beliefs and reality, I acknowledge the fact that there must be a very limited government. It is from this compromise that my current political affiliation stems:
I am a Libertarian.

After having been disheartened as to the state of politics for many years, I finally was lucky enough to be introduced to a political party that actually has a platform that is not hypocritical or flawed.

I joined the Libertarian party in the fall of '97, and I have since read a lot more on Libertarian principles, and I'm finding more and more that although dislike government as a whole, a Libertarian society, with a strongly limited government, would be probably as near to an ideal society that we might bring this world.

So now I've educated myself on many of the themes I find pertinent to a good political discussion. I've read works on economics, so that I now understand the forces that cause inflation, booms, and depressions. I have spent much of my free time reading up on political theory, and I try to read articles arguing from all political viewpoints. If I know that the contrary opinion, how can I succesfully argue mine?

Anyway, for your reading pleasure, I shall attempt to regularly add an opinion "column" about some issue to this page. And if you are not certain as to your political leanings, and the rational anarchist part of your mind is voicing doubts about the establishment, feel free to email me. I'm always up for political discussion.
