Pete's Log: Killing 404s

Entry #1415, (Meta)
(posted when I was 28 years old.)

So prijks.esgeroth.org got completely removed from google's index. This has had a profound effect on me. I've decided to embark on a project of restoring all old links/urls. I've been using google and archive.org and my own archives to figure out what urls have ever existed on www.esgeroth.org and prijks.esgeroth.org.

Problem is, I know I'm missing stuff. I've put a lot of stuff online over the years. I still have the original esgeroth's second hard drive (the first one died), and will have to see if there's more stuff on there. Luckily I've been making progress towards restoring many old urls. My goal isn't necessarily to get them all relinked (though that may become a future project), and I'm not worrying about making them all look good, but at least the content will be back where it belongs. And from now on, when I feel like reorganizing my web page, I resolve to leave all old URLs intact. So there.

Anyway, fun historical content you can now revisit include:

What I can't figure out is how to decide in the future what to put on www.esgeroth.org and what to put on prijks.esgeroth.org. It'll probably be somewhat random... but history will dictate what will be on them when I finish this project. If you have any dead links or archived pete content, lemme know!

I was glad to discover that I'm still the first result on yahoo if you search for Pete's Log. And as of yesterday, google is indexing at least a few things of prijks.esgeroth.org again. Hurray!
