I've been spending much of my time in the Mannheim/Ludwigshafen area lately. So I've started joining the local toytown crowd for a pub quiz on Tuesday nights. I've been three times so far, and we've won all three times.
The format is four rounds of ten questions each, with the topic for the last round chosen by the loser of the previous quiz. This topic is chosen and announced at the end of the previous quiz, so you know a week in advance.
The topic of the fourth round last night was David Hasselhoff. As it turned out, most of us had studied and knew he was born on July 17, 1952 in Baltimore, MD. In the end, we managed 9 points on the Hasselhoff round. I don't think this is necessarily something to be proud of, and I hope that someday I will get the brain cells back that are currently storing that Hasselhoff trivia.
But then again, we did win a bottle of Baileys and it was my turn to take home the prize. Apparently other team members already have collections at home...
