Pete's Log: Pete's Word of the Month ClubEntry #1580, Sun, June 22, 2008, 15:34 CEST (Random Crap)
(posted when I was 29 years old.)
Here's how it works: every month there will be a word (or perhaps a phrase) and your goal will be to legitimately work this word into conversations as much as possible. Post any good occurrences here.
The word of the month for June: Malthusian.

Malthusian Games by

I've never noticed before how many of my games are Malthusian. Civilization is a great example. Players each control a nation-state whose population nearly doubles every turn, but each territory on the map can only support a few people. The only solutions: war with neighbors, creation of cities or ships, and disaster cards (famine, plague, etc.) In fact, when considered together, you might think that someone said "Lets make a Malthusian game" and then proceeded to invent Civilization.
