Pete's Log: lol wut?

Entry #1687, (Random Crap)
(posted when I was 31 years old.)

Today we had English-speaking visitors at the office. I didn't have anything to do with them, except that I offered them coffee and water while they waited for the person they were actually there to see. After I brought them coffee and water, they thanked me, and I nearly responded with "Please."

You see, in German, the word "Bitte" means both "Please" and "You're welcome." I at least managed to stop myself before saying please. But it then took me a few seconds to remember that the phrase I was looking for was "you're welcome." Heh.

Also, I initially spelled English in the first sentence above as Englisch (which is the German spelling). Help!

Mamie left for Japan today. We had an entertaining month. I will hopefully post our adventures soon.
