Metra recently installed new ticket vending machines at Brookfield and other stations. To my surprise, these machines take cash. So now I try to buy my tickets at the machine in cash instead of using their app on my phone.
Not that surveillance capitalism doesn’t have a million other ways to know what I’m up to, but maybe my minute demand for the cash ticket machine will help keep it in place. Who knows who else may actually need it.
