Pete's Log: JB UpdateEntry #1869, Thu, October 29, 2020, 20:59 CDT (JB)
(posted when I was 42 years old.)
JB had her 18 month checkup yesterday. She is in good health and her head circumference is in the 99th percentile. I definitely understand why parents give their kids' ages in months, she's so different now than at 12 months or 15 months.
Her vocabulary continues to grow rapidly. We've got most of the external body parts down, as well as a growing number of animals. She knows her first few colors — blue, green and yellow. Loud, down, out, hot, door. "Marley" (Bob Marley — her favorite record to play). Her favorite phrase now is "no Daddy" and it cracks me up. "Uh oh" and "woah" are also common. Lots more.
She's suddenly getting good at shapes, doing puzzles and the "put the shape in the right hole in the box" games. She's really into climbing and getting perhaps a bit too confident at it. She loves watching trains go by and asks to go outside when she hears the gate at the railroad crossing go down.
She did have a hard time sleeping through the night this past week after what felt like several months of being good at it. Hopefully just a temporary thing. Other than that she's thriving.
