Pete's Log: Extra daylight and facetime

Entry #1888, Mon, February 22, 2021, 21:44 CST (JB)
(posted when I was 42 years old.)

Today when JB got home from daycare it was both light enough and warm enough to stay outdoors, so Jamie suggested we all go for a walk. It was pleasant. JB spotted her little shovel on the way out of the yard, so she brought that along and did plenty of digging in the snow, which delighted her immensely.

Facetime video calls have been a pretty normal part of her life so far, but the past week or two she's started requesting we call specific people, such as Boma and Bopa, or one of her aunts. It's cute and the recipients of these calls certainly seem to enjoy being requested by name.

One design flaw of the Facetime app is that the "hang up" button is the most prominent button on the screen, and thus too tempting a target for toddler fingers. They should really add a toddler mode. Luckily JB's relatives are well aware of the risk of being hung up on.
