Pete's Log: Sick days (continued) plus mid-month HackerBox

Entry #1967, Tue, July 20, 2021, 22:04 CDT (JB, Life in General, Smokepacking)
(posted when I was 42 years old.)

Jamie and I decided to keep JB home yesterday and today. She's had just the slightest lingering hint of congestion. JB's been having a grand time. Right now it feels like it's gotten easier again to get work done with her home, mostly since her attention span has been getting longer.

After her nap today, we had the following exchange:

JB: What are you thinking about, Daddy?
Me: Oh, what to do with the rest of our day
JB: Oh, like watch Daniel tiger?

Speaking of, Luca is out, Daniel Tiger is in. Jamie came across it by chance on PBS when our Apple TV was acting up yesterday and JB is now hooked. I hadn't realized before that it's based on Mr Roger's Neighborhood, so that's cute. It seems to reinforce some of the emotional intelligence things we've been working on with her, so that can't be a bad thing. Anyway, I'm not going to feel guilty letting her watch a little TV while home "sick."

On a different topic, I ordered myself an old HackerBox (0039) because I saw it mentioned in the instructions of a recent HackerBox and it's been calling to me ever since. It arrived yesterday. Getting a HackerBox in the mail mid-month was a nice treat. Of course I've been using the post-bedtime hours of yesterday and today to catch up on work so playing with it is going to have to wait. Although I might already be eyeing other past HackerBoxes from before my subscription began. I might be a little obsessed.
