Pete's Log: Winding Down May

Entry #2743, (Cooking, Life in General, Parenthood)
(posted when I was 46 years old.)

Sometimes I joke about how JB makes me do the tedious work on her Minecraft builds. And then sometimes I make tedious work for myself. In one of our worlds, she wanted to build an underground village. So we dug out a big underground chamber and she filled it with a couple buildings and told me those buildings were all for the pets and livestock of the village. Now it was time to dig another underground chamber for the actual village. Since she filled up the first chamber so quickly, I decided the next chamber would be proper big. So I started working on a 256x256 blocks underground chamber. I quickly realized that was too much and scaled back to 256x128 blocks. That is still a lot of digging. Since JB likes to switch between worlds, we were away from that world for a bit, but today we came back to it. And I kept digging.

Jamie picked up some portobello mushrooms and chicken yesterday, so today we grilled those along with CSA potatoes and asparagus. It was delicious.

We had 13 people out for soccer this evening and 10 last week. So attendance has improved since our 1v1 game.

I'm thinking of doing a digital detox of some sort, motivated by Manuel Moreale's Experimental June. I'm not yet sure what it's going to look like. I have two days to figure out. I think it might involve shutting down Esgerbeastie for the month.
