Pete's Log: Joan Wilder? It's a sweater!

Entry #1886, (Life in General)
(posted when I was 42 years old.)

Woke this morning to find the water ingress above our living room seems to have abated. Things are beginning to dry out a little. Fingers crossed. We're expecting another three or so inches of snow tomorrow.

The access door to the attic above our living room has been behind the headboard of our bed since we moved in. Since it doesn't offer much storage space like our main attic, we figured the arrangement made sense. We've moved the bed about once a year to check back there. But after spending significant time in there the past couple days, Jamie and I decided to try rearranging our bedroom. We think the new arrangement will work for us, and one result is that Boogie's bed is now right by the heater vent, which I'm sure she'll appreciate. Maybe she'll be less inclined to want to get under our covers.

Bert stopped by today with a bag of calcium chloride. Apparently he scoured a number of area hardware stores before finding some and bought several bags for various friends in the area. It's like a salty version of Santa Claus.

The panty hose sausages I made a couple days ago with our pet-friendly salt hadn't done a whole lot, so I made some calcium chloride panty hose sausages and tossed them onto the ice dams this afternoon. We'll see how those do.

JB is spending the night at Jamie's parents, so we were discussing what to do with our evening. Somehow the idea came to mind to jokingly suggest we watching Romancing the Stone. This was one of my Mom's favorite movies growing up, yet I had no memories of ever having watched it myself. Jamie jumped on the idea, especially once I mentioned I wasn't sure if I'd actually watched it.

After watching it, I'm quite certain I never saw it before, because it doesn't seem possible that I'd forget this movie. Quality 80s entertainment.
