Pete's Log: June Eve

Entry #2746, (Cooking, Life in General)
(posted when I was 46 years old.)

Welcome back to Pete's Food Log. Today we returned to an old favorite: Rice 'n' Stuff. Make some rice, fry up some stuff. Enjoy. It proves particularly useful when the fridge is full of CSA veggies.

Today's rendition featured Basmati rice, tofu, carrots and the following CSA goodies: sunchokes, joi choi, spring onions, and asparagus. It was delicious. The sunchokes were especially delightful.

As I sit here with under 3 hours to go before June, pondering the parameters for a June experiment, I receive yet another unwelcome email from one of the dozen "services" the local school district signed us up for and the brief flare of anger breached my pondering bubble and I just don't know.

Manu's parameters start with "Close to zero digital inputs" and as full as my brain still feels, I sure could stand to have fewer inputs. But there are two things I think I need to do: read more and produce output. And I've got this nice 151 day posting streak going and posting a month of entries from my phone seems tedious.

Plus what is a digital input? Or more importantly, what does it matter that the input is digital? I listen to a lot of digital music and that input doesn't bother me. So now instead of turning off Esgerbeastie, I'm considering adding some temporary firewall rules that would let Esgerbeastie talk to only a handful of hosts such as esgeroth.org.

This whole thing would be a lot easier if I had any semblance of impulse control.
